Youngest member of the Vatican Museums, the Philatelic and Numismatic Museum was opened in 2007 to gather into one the whole production philatelic and numismatic collection from the Vatican State from 1929 to today. Inside the museum it is also a wide selection of sketches, lithographs, molds in plaster and bronze casts that illustrate the production of stamps and coins process. In the section devoted to philately postcards and letters are on display with new stamps or traveled, or down used for one shipment. In the section dedicated to numismatics shop windows are filled with rare and commemorative coins printed on the occasion of Holy or to commemorate special events.
